Rocket AI Enablement for IBM i
AI capabilities Rocket Software added across three of its IBM i products on August 25, 2026: AI-generated unit tests and RPG format conversion in Rocket DevOps, 5250 workflow analysis and a chat interface in Continuous Modernization, and a replication-tuning AI Tuner in iCluster.
Rocket Software, a longtime IBM i modernization and high-availability vendor, announced AI additions across three IBM i products on August 25, 2026, with IT Jungle reporting further detail on September 14, 2026. Rocket DevOps gained AI-generated unit tests aimed at more than 90 percent code coverage, AI-powered static code analysis, automated conversion of fixed-format RPG to free-format RPG, and AI MCP interfaces for connecting external AI tools. Continuous Modernization, built from the former Rocket API and LegaSuite products, added workflow analysis that reads the 5250 screens and database calls an application uses, plus a conversational chat interface for querying application logic in natural language. Rocket iCluster, the company's high-availability replication product, added an AI Tuner that analyzes replication performance and recommends configuration changes, such as excluding temporary objects from replication. The same announcement covers IBM Z, MultiValue and Uniface; Rocket disclosed no pricing or IBM i general-availability dates for any of it.
