IBM Power S1112
IBM's entry-level, single-socket Power11 server, announced July 15, 2026 and generally available July 24, 2026, built for edge and branch AI inferencing with on-chip Matrix Math Acceleration. It is the first Power11 machine available in IBM i's low-cost P05 software tier.
The Power S1112 is a single-socket, entry-level Power11 server IBM announced July 15, 2026 and made generally available July 24, 2026, aimed at edge, branch and near-edge AI deployments running AIX, IBM i or Linux. For IBM i shops it is the first Power11 machine in the P05 software tier, IBM's lowest-cost IBM i licensing bracket: feature #EJMT provides one to four Power11 cores at a base 3.6 GHz (4 GHz peak), with a #2319 option to downgrade to a single active core. P05 caps IBM i at 64 GB of memory, even though the hardware supports up to 512 GB of DDR5 memory across four OMI slots and 12.8 TB of NVMe storage. IBM rates the S1112 at up to 2x the core performance of the Power S914 and 3x that of the Power S814. Like other Power11 systems, it inherits on-chip Matrix Math Acceleration for local AI inferencing without a separate GPU.
